IHS showcasing newest products in the CMEF autumn exhibition

Following the release of the IHS Endoscopy Surgery Training Simulator Alpha 1.0 in March, the team spent another half a year developing and improving on the system as a whole. This month, IHS will bring the newly upgraded EndoTrainPro™ Lite and the latest EndoTrainPro™ mass production version 2.0, and officially unveiled both products at the autumn exhibition of the China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF).

The EndoTrainPro™ Lite model is compact and easy to carry around, with comprehensive teaching functions, and is extremely cost-effective. It is suitable for small and medium-sized hospitals, and endoscopy training sites that have multiple operators be trained simultaneously. The Lite version has a size of 400mm W x 260mm D x 145mm H, a weight of 5 kg, with a user-friendly 10.1-inch touch screen. The Lite version is fully compatible with the full version, which allows users to pause or restart during the operation, and complete the entire operation of the digestive tract with realistic haptic feedback.

Compared with version 1.0, the latest mass production version of EndoTrainPro™ supports 6-dimensional haptic feedback, including the 4-dimensional haptic feedback of the handle and the 2-dimensional haptic feedback of the biopsy device. Some other features that were added include better scene rendering and a bleeding module to represent a more realistic visual. On top of that a colonoscopy training module was added for more variety in terms of training needs.

Both EndoTrainPro™ and EndoTrainPro™ Lite support customisable training cases, and provide endoscopy and biopsy operations that resemble different situations. These highly realistic simulations with an environment identical to clinical endoscopy operations, allow beginners to get an immersive experience through realistic feedback, thus improving their hands-on skills. After each operation is completed, the system will automatically generate a comprehensive evaluation report, which is stored in a password-protected database that records and reviews all training assessments. The management system lets admin users set up and edit training courses, creates groups/users according to different training needs, and modify training courses and assessment details.

IHS has been committed to the development of robotic haptic technology and its application since its establishment and has been deeply involved in the field of medical surgery training robots. IHS aims to promote the development of medical simulation training in China. Driven by factors of China’s aging population and urbanization, the demand for China’s medical service market is clearly huge. After years of improvement, the development of the industry has shifted from an extremely aggressive and rapid pace, to focusing more on service quality and efficiency. This change directly corresponds to the increase in the demand for medical education, which has promoted the size of China’s medical education market from 45.52 billion yuan in 2012 to 71.89 billion yuan in 2018, with a compound annual growth rate of 7.91%. In the future, IHS will continue to polish key technologies, thrive for product iterations, and expand into multiple specialized surgical simulation teaching areas. Our aim is to help clinicians improve their skills, and to promote a procedural, systematic, and precise process of surgical training.

The newly upgraded products will be showcased at the China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF) on October 13-16, at Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center, Hall 13, booth 13F15. We sincerely invite everyone to come join us and experience our latest products.
