IHS, a robotic haptic technology company, has developed a digestive endoscopic surgery training simulator EndoTrainPro™. This system allows users to perform simulated surgery in the digestive system of a VR virtual patient. The equipment combines many technologies such as haptics, AI and VR to improve the realism and achieve digitalization of digestive tract surgery training. EndoTrainPro™ will provide medical university students and young doctors with efficient, intelligent and standardized training opportunities.
In September 2020, the product will be commercialized in Shenzhen Hospital of Southern Medical University, and preliminary cooperation has been reached with Vancouver General Hospital in Canada. EndoTrainPro™ will be commercialized in Shenzhen University General Hospital by the end of 2020 and will be gradually promoted in other cooperative hospitals. Through the close collaboration with leading hospitals, it will surely be an impactful step that will guide to the stage of large-scale mass production. It is expected to start mass production in the first quarter of 2021, and reach 60-80 equipment shipments the following year.”
